How to Use the Pack Creator: Step-by-Step Guide

Learn how to easily create, edit, and export custom skin packs for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition using our web-based Pack Creator.

To get started with building or editing a skin pack, navigate to our tools page and select "Pack Creator". If you are starting from scratch, you will be presented with a clean main dashboard.

Click on the "Add (Shift+A)" button at the bottom of the screen to open the "Select Geometry" popup. Here, you can select standard base models like "custom (Steve)" or "customSlim (Alex)", or type a specific geometry name. Click "Done", then choose one or multiple skin PNG files from your device to attach to that geometry.

Once your skins are imported, you will see them listed on your main screen. From here, you can click "Change Geo", "Add Cape", "Clone", or "Remove" to manage individual skins, as well as assign custom animations and skin names using the options on the right side of each entry.

To save your work, click "Finish (Shift+E)" to bring up the "Export Pack" menu. Here is how the export options work:

* Export: Downloads a .json file along with an unported version of your pack. Use this option to save a project file so you can re-import and edit your pack in the Pack Creator later. Note: This file cannot be used in-game directly because it does not include the geometry.json file.

* Download For iOS: Use this option to download your finished pack for playing in-game. Important: Always use "Download For iOS" even if you are playing on PC (via the multipersona method).

* Download For PC: This option is for a legacy installation method that no longer functions in modern Minecraft updates. Avoid using this button.

If you want to edit a previously exported project file, simply click "Open Export (Shift+I)" from the main dashboard and load your exported JSON file.

You can also edit existing PC packs (not iOS packs) by simply clicking "Open Pack (Shift+O)" from the main dashboard and selecting the pack ZIP file.
